Her Story

Prerna Prasad started her career as a TV journalist and worked for almost 8 years in corporate media. It was in 2016, when she went on a holiday to Malaysia that the idea of Ecoplore was born.

Her Company

Ecoplore is a booking platform for eco-hotels. They only promote only those hotels that are made of mud, wood, bamboo, stone, or any local architecture, and maintain at least 33% greenery on its campus. Their eco-hotels also follow other sustainable measures like rainwater harvesting, solar panels, composting, no plastic zone, organic farming, and so on.

Her Achievements

• April 2016: First eco-hotel listed on Ecoplore’s website.
• 2018-20: Media coverage by Your Story, She the People, Times of India, and others.
• 2019-20: More than 400 happy guests served.
• January 2019: Felicitated with Outlook Responsible Tourism Award.
• December 2019: Recognised by UNEP for fulfilling SDG 12.
• March 2021: More than 100 personally visited & verified eco-hotels listed.
• April 2021: Eco-building consultancy started.
